Introducing the Pups

Kasey

For years I did not have a dog and had no desires to get a dog.  I was perfectly content with my 20 lb. cat Gabriel, whom I loved dearly.  One day, after a move, Gabriel got out and was never seen again.  After months of crying and searching I decided no more animals.  While visiting a friend, she was talking about a puppy she needed to find a home for.  She let "Lucy" out of the crate and the little pup was going crazy.  Running laps around the living room and finally resting on my lap.  I instantly fell in love with her.  "Lucy" had chosen me.  I definitely did not choose her.  That same night I decided I was going to take "Lucy".  "Lucy" became Kasey due to another family pet being named "Lucy".  Kasey is just like one of my kids.  I love her so much and could not imagine her not being in my life.  Kasey is a Puggle (Pug and Beagle).  Such a smart breed!  In just a month I had her completely potty trained!  Now, on command, she can sit, speak, dance, shake (left or right paw), and high five.  A true blessing!  I did not get Kasey spayed because I was hoping one day to breed her with either a pug or beagle (preferred a pug) but the beagle behind my house decided other wise.  On August 13, Kasey, gave birth to 7 puppies!!! She was such a good momma!  All black except one.  Of course my girls begged and pleaded to keep a puppy and being the softy I am and for my love of animals I agreed, one pup.  We decided on Chloe.  Chloe is the only pup with any brown coloring.  Most of the other pups had some white in their chest and feet but no other puppy looked like her.  So of course we had to keep her and she had the most wrinkles in her face.  Too adorable!  I then kept going back and forth about the runt.  No body seemed interested.  And he was such a shy and timid little pup.  I feel in love again!  So in the end I decided to keep the timid little runt with the oversized feet and named him Lil' Man.  I never intended on keeping that name but I could never decide on another name.  Nothing else seemed to suit him.  I now have 3 dogs!  3 pups running around is a handful but my girls are awesome!  They help to take them out, feed them, let them in, and cleaning up their messes.  I am truly blessed to have such great kids and dogs!  They are all well behaved :)

A Trip to the Dentist...

Alyssa playing her DS.

Kayla finishing the word search.

A trip to the dentist for both the girls today. Both had to have fillings. Makes me sad, though. I have yet to have a cavity and feel as I go every month for them! The girls are real champs about going to the dentist. They are not scared at all (I am terrified). So dentist + numb mouth = going to work with mom. It really is boring for them. If I ever get a bigger office, I'll have to invest in a DVD player and TV for those days they go with me to work.

Kayla read a book for school. Alyssa played her Nintendo DS. Then we played the "Dot" game, while Alyssa started a word search (Kayla ended up finishing it).
