Valentine's Day is NOT a Bogus Holiday

I heard on several occasions yesterday that Valentine's Day is a bogus holiday.  I have to say I completely disagree.  You can read the history of Valentine's Day here.  All in all this day is about spending it with the people you love.  Married couples have anniversaries.  Individuals have birthdays.  What is so wrong with recognizing a day to show your love and appreciation with the people/person you love?  It really isn't about the gifts, just a lil something or gesture to show you care (Yes, you can do this w/o spending a lot of money and yes, you should do this throughout the year) I am so blessed because I have 3 people and 3 dogs to share my life with and they are amazing!
This is how we spent our Valentine's Day evening/weekend:

Bubblecakes

I cooked the girls BBQ chicken legs, french style green beans, mac & cheese, and fried potatoes (they asked for non-healthy since I have been on a healthier eating lifestyle) and I brought home a dozen Bubblecakes for Tom and the girls...Yummy!  Thomas came in with arms full.  He brought me my favorite sushi from my favorite restaurant, Cafe Asia.  Golden Dragon Roll, Honey Maki, and Spicy California Roll.  It was OH SO GOOD!  He also got each of us girls a big stuffed animal.  I got the Lion, Kayla got a Monkey, and Alyssa got the Monster (she had already fell in love with it at the store).  That was just too sweet of him :)  I also received a dozen red and white roses, card, colored daisys, and a new frying pan.  (Okay, I wasn't exactly excited about the frying pan but it is really nice and will last foreverI gave Thomas 2 cards (a funny card and a romantic card) and he spent Sunday Go-Cart racing :)  I give Thomas a hard time about diamonds and jewerly but I loved it all even the frying pan.  We could have laid on the couch eating pizza and watching Mythbusters and I would have been happy.  Thomas and my girls are amazing and I love them so much!

Super Bowl Cheese Heads

This year we watched the Super Bowl with some really sweet neighbors!  They had an amazing set up, marvelous food, and such great company!  Of course, Angela, made one of my fav's, Mississippi Mud Pie!  Delicious!!!!  I cannot express enough how much I love my family and friends.  They are a true gift and I am so honored to have them in my life!

Shoes? Well of course! Zebra? Absolutely!

Peep Toe Heels

I have come to the conclusion that I have a serious weakness and no will power when it comes to buying shoes!  I went shopping to help my friend buy a new suit, with my mind made up that I was not going to buy ANYTHING! Of course that did not happen!  Well I guess I didn't do too bad.  I actually found 3 pairs of shoes.  Taupe , gray, and of course black.  I gave in and bought the black pair.  That decision has been given some serious thought!  I do not own a pair of taupe or gray heels.  I have brown heels but none in taupe :(  However, I also only have one pair of peep toe black shoes and they rub the skin off my baby toe.  Also in my defense I got these for a ridiculously good price :)  The other 2 pairs of shoes were a little more expensive.   I am told constantly I do not need anymore shoes and my boyfriend just kinda rolls his eyes and grins, I often think of his little sister.  She has about 4x's as many pairs of shoes as me and that always makes me feel a little less guilty :)

Pink and Zebra Bedding
Alyssa's room is going to be fabulous!  We are super exicted about changing the look of her room.  Zebra and fusia pink will be replacing the pink, white, and orange.  I even found a rug with a zebra print edged in pink :) The one we picked out is currently out of stock but as soon as it is available we will be purchasing this fun and fabulous beding set!

Smell Goodies

Lenox full size warmer

Alyssa's Zebra Plug-In

My new favorite thing...Scentsy!  I had a Scentsy party a couple of weeks ago and have since fallen in love. The lenox warmer is the one I got for the living room.  So many other people loved the scentsy products as well!  I had a little over $500 in sales!  It basically sold it self.  Last night I picked up the scentsy orders and first thing I did when I got home was plug them up.  The cranberry mango smells so good!  I used pima cotten in my bathroom....such a fresh laundry clean smell!  The girls have plug-ins for their room and their bathroom.  Thanks to my orders I have tons (20 to be exact) in scentsy bars!  So everyone has plenty to choose from.  I have been tossing around the idea of selling Scentsy on the side.  I am convinced anyone who (loves smell goodies) tries it/smells it once will be hooked!  I also found that I enjoyed helping my friends decide on scents and sorting through them...I think I was pretty good at it!  These are the plug-in's I got for the girls.  Alyssa is changing her room to a zebra/pink theme and Kayla's favorite color is green!  I also got 2 white ones for the bathroom.  Perfect size!
